If they are still worshipping that ancient candy bar, they probably also have some sort of 'coming-of-age' thing or 'legacy inheritance system' when the parent dies, and have been doing it for so long they don't even realise what they are doing

And why wouldn't you talk to the new mods when one finally shows up? Maybe there was a change of management and someone is finally doing something to fix the mess

(I mean, that thing she's holding looks rather like Dr. McCoy's medical Tricorder, and that character's haircut kind of looks like Dr. McCoy's, and the outfit looks so much like what Dr. McCoy would have worn in ST/TOS if instead of Dr. *Leonard* McCoy, he'd been named Dr. *Leona* McCoy...)

Okay, so no implant (as such), pretty well has to be nanites as suggested above. Hereditary nanites.

Don't think it's only females, Guesticules -- Sedge looks male to me, and we've seen a couple other obviously male characters who seemed to be in the game.

I don't think a server reboot will fix it, either. Might just kill everyone connected to the game.

A few panels ago, there were three instances of “Salt^Witch” spanning two generations, each with a different level. Clearly family.

Even if a server reboot could fix it, does anyone have the user permissions to do so? Ordinary users certainly don't and odds are even the mod group's permissions are limited. (Assuming the least privilege access control model, which is pretty common.)

The space romans are already aware of where the servers are and i doubt anyone is going to keep them out so they can simply boot the server physically or power it down entirely.
